Stephanie Butler is a minor character in Happy Death Day and a hidden antagonist in Happy Death Day 2U.
Biography[]
First Dimension[]
Stephanie was married to Dr. Gregory Butler and was unaware that he was cheating on her by having an affair with one of her students, Tree Gelbman.
One day, she travelled to his office while he was still making out with Tree, and so Tree locked the door with a chair so Stephanie could not get in, and when Stephanie entered the room, Gregory told her Tree was her medical student, and Tree shortly introduced herself before leaving.
At first, after someone started killing Tree over and over again, Stephanie became a murder suspect, her motive being the secret affair. Stephanie was witnessed getting into a car, but Tree was then killed by someone else, removing the possibility of Stephanie being the killer behind the Babyface mask.
Second Dimension[]

In the second dimension, she was still married to Gregory and he was still in an affair with Tree, but in this dimension Stephanie found out about the affair, and decided to team up with Gregory to kill Tree.
When Tree realised that Gregory was the killer he confronted him in the hallway together with Lori Spengler, but they failed to realise that Stephanie was also in on it and that she was behind them. She shot Lori as Gregory charged at Tree.
Death[]
When they had gained the upper hand, Stephanie gave Gregory the gun, thinking he would kill Tree, but he instead shot and killed Stephanie, revealing that he had wanted a divorce all along.
Trivia[]
- The original ending of Happy Death Day would had Stephanie killing Tree in the hospital with an injection.
