Private Juan Torrez is a minor antagonist in Day of the Dead.
Biography[]
Torrez is part of the military group set to protect the scientist group in the underground compound, although Torrez is mostly in the background. He is first seen on the surface growing marijuana plants.
After Henry Rhodes kills doctors Matthew Logan and Ted Fisher, and Sarah Bowman and Bill McDermott escape into the tunnels, Torrez is knocked out by John, who he was pointing a gun at. Later, he awakens to see that both he and Rhodes, who was also knocked out, have been disarmed. Shortly after, zombies start to swarm the compound and Rhodes leaves Torrez and the others to die.

While trying to avoid the zombies, Torrez is quickly surrounded by a group of them. One of them then tears his head off, stretching his vocal chords as he screams.

- Torrez is played by Taso Stavrakis, who played Sledge in Dawn of the Dead and is both makeup assistant and best friend to Tom Savini.
