Biography[]
Don't Breathe (2016)[]
Money learns from their fence that Gulf War veteran Norman Nordstrom lives in an abandoned Detroit neighborhood and has $300,000 in cash. According to reports, the money was part of a settlement after Cindy Roberts, a wealthy young woman, killed his daughter in a vehicle accident. Nordstrom is blind, the three discover after spying on the residence.
The group approaches the house at night, drugs Nordstrom's rottweiler dog, and then enters. A sleeping gas bottle is placed in Nordstrom's bedroom by money. Money assumes the stolen goods are stored there when he sees a locked basement door and shoots the lock. Nordstrom is awakened by the disturbance, and when Rocky and Alex are left in silence, he kills Money by overpowering him, stealing the gun, and doing it. Rocky sees Nordstrom examine his goods by opening a concealed safe. She opens the safe after he departs and removes the money. Nordstrom returns to find the safe empty after realizing there are more trespassers after discovering Rocky and Alex's shoes.
Rocky and Alex enter the basement after eluding Nordstrom. They discover a pregnant lady who identifies herself as Cindy Roberts there, bound and gagged. After releasing her, Rocky and Alex try to unlock the storm cellar door. When Nordstrom fires at them, Cindy is fatally wounded. Over her dead body, Nordstrom breaks down and sobs. The lights are then turned off, leaving the basement in pitch black. Alex knocks Nordstrom out after a scuffle and blind pursuit, and they run upstairs.
They approach the dog, who has awakened, and retreat into the bedroom after sealing the cellar entrance. Rocky uses a ventilation duct to leave the room. Alex is unconscious after falling out of a window and hitting a skylight. Nordstrom corners Alex in the utility room and appears to kill him with a pair of garden shears until Alex awakens. He then blasts out the skylight. Before Nordstrom catches Rocky, the dog chases her through the vents.
Rocky awakens in the basement, bound. According to Nordstrom, Cindy was carrying a "replacement" for his daughter. He then gets ready to use a turkey baster to artificially inseminate Rocky, pledging to let her go once she has given him a kid. Alex saves Rocky and handcuffs Nordstrom after luring him into stabbing Money's corpse in order to survive.
Alex and Rocky make an effort to exit through the front entrance. Nordstrom escapes and kills Alex with a single shot. As the dog pursues her, Rocky runs away. She locks the puppy in the trunk of her car, but Nordstrom manages to capture her again. Rocky knocks him out by activating the alarm after being dragged back into his home. He then repeatedly beats him in the head with a crowbar and forces him down the basement. As he collapses, the gun shoots into his side. Rocky makes his getaway before the cops show up, thinking he is dead.
Rocky and Diddy later view a news story about the incident. According to reports, Nordstrom, who is recovering in a hospital, killed Alex and Money in self-defense. He leaves out Rocky and the money that was stolen.
Don't Breathe 2 (2021)[]
Eight years after the events of the previous movie, blind former Navy SEAL Norman Nordstrom resides in a Detroit suburb with his Rottweiler, Shadow, and daughter Phoenix. Phoenix is informed by Norman that the birth mother perished in a fire in their previous home.
Hernandez, Norman's lone contact with the outside world and a former Army Ranger, persuades Norman to allow Phoenix to go with her on a town errand so that they can spend some time together outside of the house. An individual with a biker-like appearance tries to kidnap Phoenix, but Shadow scares them off. After following Hernandez's van back to Norman's, his crew follows Phoenix as she returns to the city. They do this by waiting for Hernandez to drop her off. They entice Shadow away from Norman's and kill him there. The gang enters to grab Phoenix as Norman goes outside to hunt for Shadow. When Raylan, the gang's leader, informs Phoenix that he is her biological father and proves it by demonstrating how they both have a Mallen streak, a fight breaks out between Norman and the group.
It is made known that Raylan spent eight years in prison after Phoenix's home caught fire following a meth lab explosion in the basement. Phoenix was found unconscious in the accident by Norman, who then brought her home to replace his deceased daughter. After being freed, Raylan encountered Phoenix as she laid flowers at the memorial for her mother. A gangster chloroforms Phoenix. Raylan captures the beast in the attic and then orders his own dog to kill Norman. Phoenix is taken with the gang as they burn down the house. As they flee together, Norman makes friends with the dog, who then directs him to the gang's hotel refuge.
At the hotel, Raylan lets Phoenix know that her real name is Tara and introduces her to her mother, who is still present but in a wheelchair due to terminal illness. She explains that she set off the explosion while making meth, poisoning her internal organs as a result. Only so that her mother can receive an organ transplant, Tara's parents kidnapped her. Tara won't have access to medications or facilities, so she'll be awake for the procedure. A power outage delays the process, and Norman ambushes Raylan's men. Using the cover of darkness, Norman kills them all one by one, with the exception of Raul, who lets Norman go after learning Raylan's true motivations for bringing Tara back. Norman kills the surgeon with smoke grenades and confronts Raylan. Raylan accidentally fires a gun during the struggle, killing Tara's mother, which forces Tara's wheelchair to roll away while she is shackled. Raylan has his eyeballs gouged out by Norman, who then abandons him for dead. Tara, who is still restrained to her mother's wheelchair, manages to escape by severing her mother's arms just as Tara and her mother's wheelchair fall into the pool along with Josephine's body.

Norman's possible death.
Tara receives confirmation from a severely hurt Norman that her father was telling the truth. He admits to his misdeeds, which include rape and murder, and orders her to run away to safety. When Tara fatally stabs Raylan after he stabs Norman, Raylan falls into the empty pool next to the body of his wife. Norman tries to assist Tara, telling him that she can rescue him; Tara responds that she has already saved him; and then, it appears that Norman has died from his injuries. Tara departs and moves toward a children's residence she had previously observed. She walks up to several kids who are playing and introduces herself as Phoenix.
In the post-credits sequence, Raylan's dog walks up to what appears to be Norman's corpse and licks his fingers. One of them flinches, showing that Norman is still breathing.
