Leonard Wright is the main antagonist in President's Day.
Biography[]
Mr. Wright was the government class teacher at Lincoln High School in Maryland, USA. In 2010, the school holds an election for school president. Believing that a student he was obsessed with, Chelsea Blythe, deserved to win, Leonard began dressing up like Abraham Lincoln and killing off the other candidates and anyone who was a threat to her.
He first murders a candidate making love with his girlfriend with an axe. The same night, he steals a vat of sulfuric acid from the science lab. Because of the lack of bodies, Tom and Tara's deaths are marked as disappearances. The next day in the afternoon, Leonard uses the axe to kill a girl named Maxine, also taking the body but leaving the wheel chair covered in blood.
During the announcement for the next school president, Leonard threatens the vice principal and forces her to go against the vote count and say that Chelsea is the new president. Afterwards, he gags the vice principal and leaves a letter in Chelsea's locker telling her to meet him in the fallout shelter. When Joanna goes to commend Jenna and Barbara on their part in revealing Chelsea's true personality, she finds their corpses in a bathroom stall and is kidnapped by Leonard.
Chelsea finds the letter and meets Lincoln in the fallout shelter, finding a shrine to her. Leonard then unmasks himself and congratulates her on being president, while also revealing his devotion and obsession to her. He then unveils a gagged Joanna and hands Chelsea a knife, telling her that it's her chance to take revenge. Chelsea grabs the knife, but instead of hurting Joanna, she cuts her free while making him believe she's hurting her. Upon realizing the deception, he asks her why, to which she answers that she's horrified by his actions and swipes the knife at him. In retaliation, Leonard swings the axe into her stomach killing her, while repeatedly yelling "I love you, Chelsea!"
Death[]
This gives Joanna time to escape, but Leonard gives chase. While chasing Joanna, Leonard bumps into Barry who fights him with a crowbar, when Joanna pops up behind him and pushes Leonard's face into a boiler, burning it. After collapsing from the pain, Leonard pops up one last time yelling "You weren't supposed to be president!" Surprised, Barry grabs the axe and cuts his head in half.
