At his exhibit, Lily is disgusted with Max inviting his assistant Amy to join them in a threesome. While Lily storms off, calling Max "a cheap, hypocritical sleazeball" Max replied "Yeah, but you knew that".
At Dorothy's party, Max later approaches Kate and tells her that Lily didn't turn up in L.A. for her work trip (unaware Lily has been killed) and flirts with Kate, even by calling her Sweetness, before Kate rolls her eyes and leaves him in annoyance.
