James Anthony Janisse is the founder and host of the YouTube channel Dead Meat, as well as his other channel, Practical Folks. On Dead Meat, his most popular and frequent show is The Kill Count, where he counts the kills of horror movies, such as Friday the 13th, Scream, Child's Play, and many other horror movie series and other smaller films, and TV-shows like Stranger Things. He has also worked as an editor and even acted in movies and shows as background characters. His work includes being a writer for TMI Hollywood, editor for Powerhour, and camera and electrical department for The Midnight Hour. His acting jobs include Scream (2022), The Look-See Season 2, Powerhour, Hashtag, So far from God, Talons, Once upon a University, and some other shorts. He is also the host of Create A Killer and What's Your Favorite Scary Movie. In September 2019, James got engaged to his wife, Chelsea Rebecca and married her on 21 January 2022. He resides in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles.
Childhood
James was born in Detroit, Michigan on 6 May 1989. He has a sister named Janelle.
James was interested in horror movies at a young age (and throughout his life), and was presumably influenced by Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark. His favorite type of horror movies was slashers, but now slashers are his least favorite horror subgenre.
During his teenage years he created a horror page where he would tally up the deaths in horror movies (similar to his future channel Dead Meat) and joined a band. He attended University of Michigan.
