Hollis is a major supporting character in My Bloody Valentine.
Biography[]
Hollis is known for his easy-going personality, friendly demeanour, and strong sense of camaraderie. He is one of the older members of the group of young adults in the mining town of Valentine Bluffs and is well-liked for his good-natured humour and reliability.
He works at the local Hanniger Mine alongside his friends, including T.J. Hanniger, Axel Palmer, and Howard Landers. He is in a relationship with Patty, one of the partygoers. When the group decides to throw a Valentine’s Day party at the mine, he warns them about the town’s dark past involving the infamous killer, Harry Warden, but to no avail in stopping them.
During the massacre, he realises that a group of their companions is trapped in the tunnels below. Hollis takes it upon himself to venture into the mines to check on their safety.
Death[]
As he searches for his missing friends, he is ambushed by the killer—who is later revealed to be Axel Palmer. The murderer brutally attacks Hollis with a nail gun, shooting him multiple times in the head and face. He manages to stumble his way back to the others before collapsing and dying in front of the group.
Trivia[]
- His death was heavily censored by the MPAA, since his death in the original goes on a little longer.
