Hamish McConville is the overarching antagonist in Leprechaun: Origins.

Biography[]

Hamish McConville is met by Sophie and her friends in a local bar, and tells them about the history of the village. Hamish and his grumpy son Sean then take Sophie and her friends to a cottage where they can begin hitchhiking to the cavern.

As Hamish and Sean leave Sophie and her friends in the cottage, Hamish locks them up, then leaves his golden watch behind, so the Leprechaun can come and kill them. But, Sophie and her friends manage to escape the cottage while being attacked by the Leprechaun.

Hamish and Sean are then joined by their friend Ian, where Hamish tells him of his suspicions of his son becoming disillusioned with their sacrifice plot. Hamish, Sean, and Ian then check the cottage to see if the Leprechaun killed Sophie and her friends, but they find them gone, meaning that the Leprechaun hasn't fed.

Hamish, Sean, and Ian sense which house Sophie and her friends are hiding, where Hamish confronts them and confirms to them that the villagers sacrifice tourists each year to avoid having to sacrifice themselves. And Sean, who has grown weary of the unjustified sacrifices, eventually lets Sophie and her friends go, while Hamish finds Ian (who has been attacked by the Leprechaun) impaled on some farm equipment in a shed. But, Hamish escapes as the Leprechaun finishes Ian off.

Sophie and her friends take the offer to escape by Mary, who reveals herself to be Hamish's accomplice. Hamish then has Sophie and her friends tied to trees as offerings for the Leprechaun.

Sophie manages to escape while all of her friends are killed by the Leprechaun, but Hamish corners her and is still intent on sacrificing her. Sophie is saved by Sean, who then turns on Hamish and pushes him into the cellar. The Leprechaun then shows up and mauls Hamish to death as Sean watches and cries.
