The Gamemaster, also known as Dr. Wootan Yu and its anagram "no way out" (real name unknown) is the main antagonist in Escape Room.
Biography[]
This man works for the people responsible for creating the escape room death maze. His job is to operate the various traps of the maze and monitor the progress of the participants. In the end, however, no one is to survive the game and the Gamemaster is tasked with killing whoever makes it out alive.
After Ben Miller manages to make it out of the final escape room, The Game Master greets him and reveals to him that the purpose of the game was to provide entertainment to rich and powerful individuals who were dissatisfied by society's inclination towards "safe" means of amusement. After lulling Ben into a false sense of security by offering him a cigarette, the Gamemaster attempts to strangle him with a length of wire. However, he is distracted when the monitor on the wall changes, revealing that he is now participating in the game.

The Gamemaster dead after being shot by Ben
To the surprise of Ben and the Game Master, Zoey Davis had survived the game as well. When the hospital room filled with gas, she feigned death while a pair of technicians entered the room to clean up. Zoey had overpowered the technicians and taken a gun from one of them. After making it to the control room, she shot at the Gamemaster before he could kill Ben. The Gamemaster ran for cover behind some crates, then lunged at Zoey when her back was turned. Before he could kill her, Ben had recovered and smashed a decanter against the Gamemaster's face, knocking him to the floor. While the Game Master was down, Ben grabbed Zoey's gun and shot him twice in the chest.
