Frank Cotton is the main antagonist in Hellraiser and a supporting antagonist in Hellbound: Hellraiser II.
Hellraiser (1987)[]
Biography[]
Frank had had an affair with his brother Larry's wife Julia, sometime before the two were married. Frank, believing that he has experienced everything the world has to offer, and wanting more, buys the Lament Configuration puzzle box from a merchant in Morocco and brings it back to his dead mother's home in America.
1st Death[]
Solving the puzzle box, Frank opens a portal and summons the Cenobites, who transform the house into Frank's personal Hell and tear him apart with their hooked chains. After he is in pieces and fully in the Cenobites' control, they take him and his Hell back to Leviathan, and clear up the attic, as if nothing ever happened.

Frank's 1st death, with his face in pieces.
Some time later, Larry moves in with Julia as they shared the house with Frank occasionally, and since Frank has been missing for some time. While moving furniture, Larry cuts his hand on a rusty nail and bleeds all over the spot where Frank was ripped apart. Because of the blood, Frank manages to escape Hell. He then begins to regenerate flesh. Later on, Julia discovers Frank's skinless body, much to her horror. Heavily decayed, he reveals himself to her as Frank, and, promising his love to her again, manipulates her into bringing him sacrifices to feed his hunger and regenerate his old body. Julia brings Frank at least three men as sacrifices, but, after an encounter with his niece Kirsty, in which she catches him draining one of the victims, he tries to rape her, but loses the Lament Configuration and Kirsty escapes. With Kirsty as a witness to his scheme, Frank kills Larry and takes his skin to disguise himself for Kirsty when she arrives home.
Frank tries to trick her into believing that he's her father before she discovers the truth. Now the enraged Frank, whose skin is scratched by Kirsty, tries to kill her with his switchblade. While coming at Kirsty, Frank accidentally stabs Julia instead and drains her without remorse.
2nd Death[]
Frank chases Kirsty around the house and corners her in the attic. Frank reveals who he is and the Cenobites come, having made a deal with Kirsty to recapture Frank in exchange for her freedom. Before he can kill Kirsty, the Cenobites ensnare and rip Frank apart with hooks again, sending him back to Hell.

Frank's 2nd death, where he is ripped apart by the Cenobites
His second death won the Golden Chainsaw as it is the film's ultimate kill and it lives up to the anticipation.

Hellbound: Hellraiser II[]
As Kirsty is recovering in hospital, she has a vision of a skinless body claiming that they are in Hell, and need help. Kirsty believes it to be her father Larry.
3rd Death[]
Later on, after one of the hospital patients, Tiffany, opens the door to hell, Kirsty enters it and explores it, desperately trying to find her father. Within hell, Kristy encounters Frank, who tells her the skinless body she had a vision of was really him, and that Larry is staying dead for all eternity. Frank thanks Kirsty for coming to rescue him, and attempts to attack her, but she starts a fire within his personal hellscape, which melts Frank's flesh off. Then, Julia shows up, and Frank tries to plead with her, but Julia, no longer obsessed with him, rips out his heart, killing him.
