Fran was a supporting character in Sinister. However, both of her scenes were deleted due to pacing issues. She was portrayed by actress Angela Bettis, who also portrayed Mandy in 12 Hour Shift and Carrie White in the 2002 remake of Carrie.

Fran was the neighbour of the Oswalt family. Fran met with Ellison Oswalt and told him about the deaths of the family who lived in the house before them, and provided him with her own take on the events.
