Forest Speyer

Forest Speyer is a character in the Resident Evil franchise. He makes an appearance in the Resident Evil remake.

Biography[]

Prior to joining S.T.A.R.S., Speyer had served in the US Army, where he was renowned for being an excellent marksman and a perfectionist in his work. He was highly regarded by his colleagues for being a young man full of life and able to do whatever was necessary to fulfill his mission. He was also a close friend of Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine before either of them joined S.T.A.R.S..

Because of his particularly strong bond with Chris, both always vied for the Raccoon Police Department's best sniper awards when they were off duty. He was also close to Joseph Frost, and together with Redfield, the three used to go drunkenly tearing around the suburbs of Raccoon City, causing minor disturbances before returning home.

Arklay Incident Investigation[]

On July 23, 1998, the R.P.D. sent S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team out to the Arklay Mountains in order to investigate a recent and ongoing string of brutal cannibalistic murders and animal attacks of hikers and families living in the surrounding area. During the flight, however, the helicopter's engine experienced a sudden catastrophic failure, forcing the team to make an emergency crash landing in the Raccoon Forest. As the pilot, Kevin Dooley, stayed behind to find the cause of the failure, Rebecca Chambers and Edward Dewey searched the Raccoon forest, and the rest of Bravo Team - Speyer included - found the abandoned Spencer Mansion. The team split up to check the area and report their findings. Unbeknownst to them, Kevin and Edward were already dead, and Rebecca was unable to reach them for another day.

Death[]

After the rest of Bravo team split up to explore the mansion, Speyer, monitoring the east side, stepped out into the East terrace and was attacked by crows, who pecked him nearly to death. He was rendered unconscious and became infected following the attack, and awoke as a zombie shortly after being found by his S.T.A.R.S. comrades from the Alpha Team, who put him to rest.
