Father Sal Tedeschi is the main antagonist of Immaculate. He is played by Álvaro Morte.
Biography[]
Prior to becoming a priest, Tedeschi was a geneticist whose experiments were considered immoral. He was also an extreme Christian fanatic and a member of a Catholic order led by Cardinal Franco Merola that sought to bring about the end of the world by having a woman give birth to the Second Coming of Christ. At one point, Tedeschi managed to gain ownership of what he believed was one of the nails used during Christ's crucifixion and took DNA samples from it with the goal of impregnating a virgin woman with them.
Tedeschi spent 20 years performing his illegal experiments on nuns at "Our Lady of Sorrows", Merola's convent in Italy. However, all of his experiments failed and resulted in malformed children that died soon after birth. Each of his victims were branded on the feet with a crucifixes after the birth. Eventually he learned of a woman named Cecilia Jones, who was briefly clinically dead after falling through ice as a 12-year-old, but was revived by doctors and thus "resurrected" like Christ, realising that this was his best chance of success. Tedeschi invites Cecilia to the convent, ostensibly to help look after elderly and dying nuns. Tedeschi first appears to greet Cecilia at the convent and administers her vows, which have a strange focus on the "marriage" between her and Christ.
After successfully making Cecilia pregnant, he rejects taking her to the hospital when her health started to deteriorate as a result of the unnatural pregnancy. When Sister Isabella kills herself out of devastation at not being chosen, Sister Gwen is taken away by Tedeschi when she started to point out all the absurdities that were happening. Cecilia would later see that Gwen was being horrifically tortured by three masked figures who had her strapped in a chair and proceeded to cut her tongue out.
Realizing that her "baby" could be the Antichrist and bring about the End Times as described by the Book of Revelation, Cecilia fakes a miscarriage to convince Tedeschi to take her to a hospital. Unfortunately, the Mother Superior discovers her deceit when she finds a dead chicken under her bed, and Tedeschi and Deacon Enzo drag her back when she tried to make a run for it. As punishment, Tedeschi brands Cecilia's feet with a crucifix symbol which is shown to be something that he routinely does to other nuns. While he was away, Cecilia manages to bludgeon the Mother Superior to death with a crucifix.

After killing the Mother Superior, Cecilia spreads ethanol all over Tedeschi's laboratory and, after a small fight with the man, manages to trap him in his laboratory and set it on fire. However, he manages to survive despite being badly burned by the flames and chases the young woman into the catacombs. Just as Cecilia was about to make a break for the exit, she is pulled back in by the fanatical man. Tedeschi tries to slice her open with his knife but is finally killed when she stabs him through the neck with his treasured crucifixion nail.
