Earl Danzinger is a menacing and brutal antagonist in The Purge: Election Year. He is portrayed by Terry Serpico.
Biography[]
Danzinger is a sadistic and highly skilled, high-ranking mercenary and enforcer leads an elite death squad working for the NFFA. His primary mission during the events of the purge is to eliminate Senator Charlie Roan, a presidential candidate whose campaign threatens to dismantle the Purge system and overthrow the NFFA’s corrupt regime. He is a fervent believer in the Purge, fully embracing the violent ideology of the NFFA.
When Purge Night begins, Roan is being protected in a fortified house under the watch of her loyal bodyguard, former police sergeant Leo Barnes. However, the NFFA, desperate to eliminate her before the election, sends Danzinger and his heavily armed team to break into the house. Danzinger and his men breach the security defenses and quickly overwhelm the guards, killing most of them. Leo barely manages to escape with Roan, engaging in a tense firefight with Danzinger’s team.
Following the failed assassination attempt, Danzinger and his team continue to hunt down Roan and Barnes across Washington, D.C. He employs advanced tracking technology, and his squad executes anyone who stands in their way. He eventually succeeds in capturing Roan and delivers her to the NFFA’s private Purge ceremony, which takes place in a cathedral. Here, the NFFA leaders intend to publicly execute her as a twisted religious sacrifice, reaffirming their power over the country.
Death[]
However, before the execution can be carried out, Leo Barnes and a group of anti-Purge rebels storm the cathedral in a dramatic rescue mission. A fierce battle erupts, and Danzinger and Barnes engage in an intense hand-to-hand combat sequence. He initially manages to brutally beat him down, however, Barnes manages to gain the upper hand and kills Danzinger by stabbing, slashing, and kicking him.
