Dr. Carl Hill is the main antagonist in Re-Animator and the secondary antagonist in Bride of Re-Animator.
Biography[]
Carl Hill is a neurosurgeon who teaches at the Miskatonic University in Arkham, Massachusetts. He stole the research made by Swiss scientist, Hans Gruber. He invented the "Laser Drill" which can easily lobotomise patients. He has a creepy obsession with student Megan Halsey. He is the enemy of medical student Herbert West, whom releases that Hill stole Gruber's work.
Death[]
While trying to steal West's work, he is decapitated via shovel by Herbert West.
Re-Animation[]
Re-Animator[]
He is re-animated by West. Hill knocks West out and makes his way to the university. He mind controls Dean Halsey along with some other bodies. Halsey's zombie is sent to kidnap Megan. When Megan is captured, he begins to rape her. West arrives and distracts Hill. But Hill releases the hoard of zombies onto him. Megan managed to mind control Halsey, whom crushes Hill's head and throws him towards J. Mace, a bystander.
Bride of Re-Animator[]
Despite being a direct sequel, Bride of Re-Animator does play loose and fast with the continuity of the last movie, Dr. Hill’s inclusion is one of the biggest factors of this. Despite his head being crushed by Halsey in the previous movie, Dr. Hill’s head turns up back at Arkham, delivered to Dr. Graves after being found in a ‘side-show attraction’. They do note that his heads seems ‘partially caved in’ but beyond that they never mention his head being crushed. Dr. Graves has been collecting the remains of the ‘massacre’ caused at the hospital, and Hill’s head is the final piece of his collection. Curious to see the effects of West’s serum, he injects it into Hill’s head and revives him, but Hill soon turns the tables by using newly developed psychic powers to control the reanimated dead that West had previously revived (despite how he previously had done so by using his laser scalpel to lobotomise the undead, now he just does it by willing it). He forces Graves to attach bat wings to his head to allow him to fly, and he then mails himself to West’s house. After West opens his crate, Hill flys out and begins taking control of the undead around the house, including his rejected ‘creations’ he concealed in an old crypt. After storming West’s basement after he creates ‘his bride’, Hill commands all the undead to attack West, Cain and his girlfriend, Francesca. The scuffle causes the crypt to collapse, and Hill’s head is last seen screaming under a pile of rubble and dirt.
