Debra is the main antagonist of the segment "Ozzy's Dungeon" in V/H/S/99. She was played by the late Sonya Eddy, who also played Yolanda in Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood.
Biography[]
Debra was the wife of Marcus and the domineering mother of Donna and Brandon. The family lived together in a run-down neighbourhood in Detroit, but Debra was severly unhappy with their living conditions. She also wanted her daughter to be a big star, and thus got Donna to be a contestant in the popular children's game show Ozzy's Dungeon. Debra wanted her to win the show at all costs so she could meet Ozzy and get granted a wish for her family to escape Detroit.
During the episode, Donna managed to make it to the final round, where she had to traverse an obstacle course designed in the style of a digestive system. During the challenge, however, Donna's leg was seriously broken when her rival Timmy pushed her whilst she was crawling out of the "large intestine", much to the horror of her parents, who witnessed the whole thing. Debra in particular was furious at the host for making "jokes" about Donna's injury rather than trying to help her. This incident left Donna permanently crippled and was presumably what led to Ozzy's Dungeon being cancelled.
A few years after the incident, Debra decides to get revenge on the host by kidnapping him with the help of her family, who take him into their basement. She forces him to go through a crueler makeshift version of the obstacle course that left their daughter wheelchair-bound, but not before she and the rest of the family torture him in ways relating to the trials Donna had gone through on the episode beforehand. When the host fails to complete the obstacle course in the allocated time, Debra prepares to inject him with a needle full of acid, but the host manages to convince her and the family to let him go, offering to bring the family to Ozzy and have their wish granted.

Debra's face melting
The group drives to the empty studio where Ozzy's Dungeon was filmed, and the host leads the family inside via the rear entrance. Traversing the set, the group soon stands before the large wooden door which supposedly leads to the titular dungeon. The door is opened by the host's former assistant and is revealed to lead to a cave. Inside, the family discovers Ozzy on an altar, being worshipped by the assistant and people dressed in the attire of the show's contestants. Donna is brought before Ozzy to tell her her wish, but, having grown sick of her family's ways, decides to disobey her mother (who specifically instructed her to wish for a new car and $15 million) and whispers something else to Ozzy, after which Ozzy convulses and births a monstrous creature. Granting Donna's wish, the creature proceeds to fire a beam out of its eye at the host and Donna's parents, causing their faces to melt.
James, Chelsea and Zoran gave their deaths the Golden Chainsaw because it was an insane ending to the segment and they loved seeing the melting faces.
