Timothy "Timmy" Reston, also known as Dean Timothy Foley, is the hidden main antagonist in Pieces.
Biography[]
In 1942, young Timmy is playing with a jigsaw puzzle of nude woman until his mother finds him and the puzzle, which she slaps Timmy several times and calls him a bastard like his father and orders him to dispose the puzzle, he returns with an axe and kills her, then dismembers her body with a hacksaw. When the police arrive, Timmy hides inside a closet and pretends to be a witness to the crime. The police believe Timmy's story and he is sent to live with his aunt.
Forty years later, Timmy changes his identity to Dean Timothy Foley and opens a box containing the bloodied clothing and a photograph of Timmy's mother. He also unboxes the bloodied jigsaw puzzle and starts to put it together. First, he kills a girl named Virginia Palmer by decapitating her with a chainsaw and then taking her head for his project of The Jigsaw Woman.
Later, when a girl goes swimming in a pool, she is caught by Timmy with a net and pulled out on the pool deck, where she is brutally killed with the chainsaw and her torso is taken by Timmy.
The next day, Timmy stalks a girl later that evening and heads into an elevator that the girl is in with a chainsaw where he saws her arms off inside an elevator just before Kendall James and the police arrive. That same evening, Timmy also stalks a reporter named Sylvia Costa and kills her on a waterbed.
Later the next day, one of Mary's tennis students goes into the locker room after Timmy plays music on the loudspeakers and ends up being sawed in half. While Mary Riggs and Kendall focus on turning off the music, Timmy steals the girl's legs and escapes. Kendall presents his theory to Holden about the killer being a member of the faculty, since he knows when and where to strike before avoiding the police. They spend hours researching files on the faculty and discover that the dean previously changed his name and that his mother was brutally murdered, discovering that he was Timmy.
Death[]
Meanwhile, Mary is drugged by the dean at his apartment and attempts to saw off her feet, since the previous victim's feet did not fit his mother's shoes for the puzzle. Bracken, Holden, and Kendall burst into the dean's apartment, and he is shot dead by Bracken while Kendall rescues Mary.
James gave this death the "Dull Machete" award because it was simple and lame.
