Cliff Bettis is the main anti-hero of the segment "The Medium" in Tales from the Hood 2. He is played by Creighton Thomas.
Biography[]
Cliff Bettis was a former pimp, who had decided to change his life for the better and became a businessman, using the $5,000,000 he had in his possession to establish a foundation aiming to build two magnet schools and sponsor scholarships to improve life and job opportunities for the next generation.
However, Cliff's use of the money inadvertedly ends up angering a trio of gangmembers, named Booze, Gore and Brian, whom Cliff had owed the money to.
Death[]
Cliff, dead on the floor.
The gangmembers end up cornering Cliff in his garage full of fancy cars, where they tie him to a chair and beat him down, demanding where the money is. Cliff explains that the money has been put to good use, and, whilst Gore and Brian are talking in private in the other side of the room, Cliff insults Booze with jokes about prison rape and him being "a bitch for Bobby Sanchez in San Quentin", and Booze responds by beating him to death.
Post-Death[]
Since Cliff had died before telling the gang members where the money was, the trio of thugs decide to channel his spirit via ritual with the help of TV physic John Lloyd, whom they trick into getting involved with them through the use of Cliff's girlfriend Sandra.
During the ritual, Cliff possesses Lloyd and begins to speak through him. When the gangsters threaten to kill Sandra if he doesn't tell them where the money is, Cliff uses his telekinetic powers to jam their guns and kill them, before reuniting with Sandra.
