Chris Carbonara is a protagonist in the segment "Shredding" in V/H/S/99.
Biography[]
Chris was a guitarist for the punk rock garage band R.A.C.K.. The band loved playing pranks on eachother, with their bassist Ankur often being the recipient of their jokes and antics, and they hosted their own web show called "R.A.C.K. Fucks Shit Up".
For episode 8 of their show, the band decides to film themselves breaking into and performing on the stage of the Colony Underground music venue, which had been abandonded after suffering severe damage in an electrical fire three years prior, in an incident that also claimed the lives of all four members of the punk band Bitch Cat after they were trampled to death by the audience trying to escape the burning building. Whilst filming the intro to the episode, the band notices Ankur looking scared and laugh at him.
That night, as the band makes their way to the Colony Underground, Ankur makes them stop and takes a detour into his house to grab a bag of special spices. After lead singer Rachel asks him why he is nervous, Ankur tells her about bhoota; restless spirits from Indian culture who can supposedly possess anyone who angers them. He then says that the spices in his bag can be used to kill a bhoota, but Rachel does not believe him and mocks him.
After breaking in, Rachel, Chris and Kaleb start exploring and goofing off, and mess around with a makeshift memorial for Bitch Cat, much to Ankur's annoyance. They then discover that Ankur's drumset has been placed on the stage despite supposedly being back at home, but this is revealed to be another prank by the rest of the band, although Ankur is unamused due to the theft involved. Shortly after, Rachel, Chris and Kalab prank Ankur again by pretending to be possessed after they gather on stage and begin performing. Ankur, however, becomes angry and storms off, telling them that he hopes the bhoota gets them. However, they are interuppted by the voice of Bitch Cat's lead singer RC yelling at them to get off the stage, before Kaleb is lifted into the air and torn to pieces by an unseen force. The members of Bitch Cat then appear as zombie-esque bhoota, and Rachel and Chris flee in horror.
Death[]

Chris being attacked.

His head being ripped off.
Whilst trying to escape, Chris is cornered against a wall by two of the bhoota, who claw open his chest before grabbing him by the throat and ripping his head off. The bhoota then crudely reconstruct his and the rest of the band members's bodies before possessing them and filming themselves as they perform one of their songs.
