Cheryl is a supporting character in Bird Box.
Biography[]
After the suicide pandemic spread to America, Cheryl headed to a house belonging to a man named Greg, where a bunch of other survivors have also gathered.
As the chaos continues outside, two other survivors named Tom and Lydia went to help another woman, Malorie Hayes. However, Lydia sees one of the monsters, and is immolated in a car explosion as her husband Douglas watches in horror. Tom brings the injured Malorie with the help of another survivor named Lucy, where she meets the other survivors; married couple Jason and Samantha, Lucy's boyfriend Felix, and a supermarket employee named Charlie. Charlie and the other survivors theorize that demonic entities have invaded Earth, driving people insane and causing them to kill themselves. The survivors proceed to cover the windows.
A few days later, a woman knocks on the front door and asks to be let in. Douglas refuses to open it, but Malorie grabs a rifle and points it at Douglas and tells Tom to open the door. He reluctantly accepts and the woman, Olympia, heads inside, where the other survivors find out that she is pregnant. Greg offers to monitor the surveillance cameras to watch the entities indirectly, believing that merely watching video footage of them will be harmless enough, but he is proven wrong and later kills himself while watching.
Some time later, another stranger, Gary, is let into the house by Olympia. Gary says that he barely escaped with his life after a group of psychos from a mental institute forced the group he was with to look at the creatures. Douglass is unwilling to let the man stay, however, and threatens Gary with a shotgun. Cheryl knocks out Douglass with a vase, and the group locks Douglass in the garage. Suddenly, both Malorie and Olympia go into labor, and everyone except Gary begins tending to the two ladies.
Gary is revealed to be one of the Psychotic Seers, and he quickly begins opening the blinds and removing the protective window covering downstairs, after knocking out Tom with a can. Gary then heads upstairs into the maternity ward, where he opens the blinds. While Malorie is able to look away in time, and hide under the bed with the two newborn babies, Olympia fails to react in time, and jumps out the window to her death.

Cheryl attempts to keep her eyes shut as well, but Gary forces her eyes open, causing her to see the entities. Cheryl proceeds to kill herself by stabbing herself in the neck with a pair of scissors.
James gave Cheryl's death the Golden Chainsaw since it was decently brutal and bloody.
