The Dead Meat Wiki

Chas is a supporting antagonist in Jennifer's Body.

Biography[]

Chas was the drummer of Low Shoulder. Whilst the band is holding a performance at Melody Lane, a mysterious fire breaks out and causes the building to burn to the ground, killing a handful of people. Low Shoulder manage to escape, however, and a drunken and/or traumatised Jennifer Check gets in the band's truck, hoping to be a part of the band upon having been offered the opportunity.

However, it turns out that Low Shoulder have been looking for a virginal sacrifice, since they struggle hard as an indie band, and so feel as if they have no choice but to call for Satan to help them achieve fame. They thus tie Jennifer up, take her to the middle of the woods, kill her, and dumo her body in the Devil's Kettle.

The band earn the fame promised to them, which is supported by a false claim that they helped save people from the fire. However, it turns out that Jennifer wasn't a virgin after all, as they had been told, and so Jennifer is overtaken by a demon and brought back to life in the form of succubus who reeks havoc on the boys in her school.

Death[]

Eventually, the demonified Jennifer is slain after her former best friend Needy stabs her in the heart. However, Jennifer's mother walks in on the act, and so Needy is sent off to a mental asylum. Luckily for Needy, however, because of a bite she obtained from Jennifer during their scuffle, Needy gains some of Jennifer's demonic powers, and uses them to escape the asylum. Once free, she heads to the backstage area of Low Shoulder's most recent concert, and kills each of the bandmembers.

Trivia[]

  • Chas is played by Sal Cortez, who is the drummer of the real-life indie band No Country (nowadays known as "Wilding"), whom wrote and performed the "Through the Trees" song that Low Shoulder performs in the film.
