Carol is one of two main protagonists in Bloody New Year, with the other being Rick.
Biography[]
Carol was tourist in Britain on vacation and went to the seaside funfair, Barry Island Carnival. While on the Waltzers ride, she is harassed by a trio carnies. Soon, a group of teenagers rescue her and escape the carnies by taking a boat out to sea, only to be stranded on the abandoned Grand Island. They stumble across the hotel, now seemingly deserted; the lobby is adorned with Christmas decorations, despite the fact that it is July.
Later, the group find the hotel's empty theatre, which is screening the film Fiend Without a Face. Rick, convinced that someone is staging an elaborate prank, tries to turn off the projector but inadvertently plays a promotional reel for the hotel showing partygoers in front of the entrance. A figure bursts out of the screen, attacks and kills Spud, and the figure vanishes. Trying to find a way off the island, the survivors separate and are each plagued by supernatural occurrences. Soon after, Carol meets back with Janet, Rick and Leslie, who tells the others that Tom went missing and needs their help.
At a cottage, they are attacked by one of the carnies named Pa, who have followed the group to the island in another boat. Pa kills Leslie by impaling her through the abdomen, upon which she transforms into a zombie and throws Pa through a wall and to his death. Rick then throws a billhook net on the zombified Leslie and throws a flare at her. Back at the hotel, Rick finds an old rifle and sees the disfigured Leslie and the corpse of another carnie named The Bear. He shoots Leslie in the stomach and then killing her by gunbutting her left arm off her torso.
An injured Tom returns to the hotel and is cared for by Janet. Rick and Carol search for the hooligans' boat and discover another plane crash site. Carol and Rick return back to the hotel where they see Tom, possessed and having his hand smashed open and his arm cut off with an elevator, and Janet being stuck in an elevator. They try to save Janet, but she gets pulled through the elevator wall and is killed, Rick screams in agony. The last two survivors witness a series of apparitions and poltergeist activities, and the last of the carnies, Ace, is killed in the kitchen after falling into a large vat. Carol and Rick flee to the ballroom, where they are greeted by a woman resembling the zombified Leslie. She tells them that they are trapped in a time warp created when an aircraft carrying an experimental cloaking device crashed on the island on New Year's Eve, 1959.
Carol and Rick flee the hotel, pursued by their friends and the hooligans – all now resurrected as zombies. They make it to the shoreline and Carol manages to board the hooligans' boat, but Rick gets distracted by the ghost of Janet, yelling to come back. Rick then gets stuck in some quicksand and sees Janet vanish. Carol can only watch from the boat as Rick gets greeted by the zombified/possessed Pa, who gets outboard motor and rams it into Rick's head.

While lying on the boat out at sea, she is suddenly sucked into the boat, causing her to be stuck in the time loop. She then appears trapped behind a mirror in the ballroom where a party appears to be taking place, with Leslie, Tom, Janet, Rick and Spud as partygoers. Carol screams for help but no one can hear her, just as the movie ends.
