Captain Henry Rhodes is the main antagonist of Day of the Dead.
Biography[]
Captain Henry Rhodes is the captain of the military group set to protect the scientist group in the Fort Myers bunker under Major Harris Cooper, but after the major dies, Rhodes takes command and grows increasingly unhinged with slow progress from the scientists and lack of communication from other survivors, even going so far as to threaten those around him, even his own men, when they don't obey his orders.
Eventually, after finding out what Dr. Matthew Logan is doing, particularly feeding the dead remains of his men to Bub, Rhodes officially goes insane, gunning Logan down in cold blood and killing his assistant Ted Fisher when helicopter pilot John refuses to leave the compound. However, zombies invade the bunker and Rhodes leaves his remaining men to die.
Death[]
When Rhodes encounters Bub, seeking revenge for Logan's death, he tries to escape, but is shot in the shoulder and leg. He then meets his end when he is surrounded by zombies, shot again by Bub and fully torn in half.

His death won the Golden Chainsaw, despite a lot of competition, particularly for his final line "Choke on 'em!"

- Rhodes is played by the late Joe Pilato, who was a head officer in the extended cut of Dawn of the Dead, Mickey Torelli in Wishmaster and Harry Cooper in Night of the Living Dead Origins 3D.
