Calux is the main antagonist in Truth or Dare
Biography[]
Calux is a demon summoned by a couple of nuns to get revenge on a priest who was sexually assaulting them. When they summoned the demon, it killed the priest and later killing the nuns. One nun was able to survive by cutting her tongue and placing it into a circular bowl with a skull on it. The curse spread all around the world after that. We first see a girl, Giselle Hammond, who was cursed. Calux asks her "Truth or Dare?". We seen her burning an innocent woman to death. Calux dares a guy, Sam Meehan, to add more players to the game. He does it an Calux claims more victims. At the end of the film Olivia Barron spreads the curse by filming a YouTube video, thereby spreading it across the globe.
After this, two college girls are seen watching the video. After Olivia utters "Truth or Dare?", one of them grins widely, and develops red, glowing eyes, revealing that she is Calux's newest host.
Appearance[]
Calux has no physical appearance, at least not in the film. However, his hosts all have wide grins and glowing red eyes.
Possession Method[]
Players will have no idea who Calux is inhabiting until it reveals itself, by use of its distinctive smile, glowing eyes, and distorting the host's voice to ask "Truth or Dare?".
The discovery of Calux in a host can be split into phases. To explain this, the Library Student that Calux takes as a host will be used as an example.
This young woman, with porcelain skin and auburn hair, had just finished a friendly talk with a schoolmate and started to leave. This is presumably where Calux takes control.
Notice how Calux keeps her warm and friendly smile on in 1 - 4, yet to trade it for his devious one. Calux simply locks in on Olivia and catches her attention using his new host's voice, until he reveals himself and starts distorting it.
