Brad is one of the protagonists of the "Tape 56" storyline in V/H/S.
Biography[]
Brad was part of a gang of criminals led by Gary. They would go around town and film their crimes (which include vandalism, robbery and sexual assault) before selling the footage on the dark web. One day, an anonymous client calls the gang and offers them a large cash reward in exchange for them breaking into a house and stealing a video tape.
Death[]
The gang arrive at the house late at night and break in before they go looking for the videotape. In an upstairs room, they find the corpse of an old man sitting on an armchair in front of various TVs showing static. As the rest of the criminals split up to look for the tape, Brad stays in the room with the man's corpse and watches a VHS tape left in the VCR. Whilst watching the tape, however, Brad suddenly disappears. Later, it is implied that he was killed by the zombified old man.
James, Chelsea and Zoran gave him the Dull Machete because he was a douchebag who deserved to die onscreen.
