Beth Washington is a false protagonist and playable character in Until Dawn. Beth was the youngest of the Washington children - the sister of Josh and twin sister of Hannah Washington. After Hannah fell victim to a prank, Beth followed her into the woods, where they encountered a mysterious creature that forced them off a cliff. Beth died from her fall and would not be found until a year later.
Like Hannah, she was voiced and motion captured by actress Ella Lentini.
Biography[]
Beth is first seen taking the trash outside. Outside of the lodge, she encounters a deer curiously watching her. Beth will approach the deer and can hold its snout, triggering a Don't Move segment, but the animal will promptly run away. Upon entering the lodge, Beth notices an empty bottle Josh chugged down. Upon noticing her passed out brother, Beth will move Josh to the couch with Hannah. The player will take control of Beth and can explore the lodge.
Beth can find a camera with numerous pictures, including pictures of the sisters with Josh and the rest of the group. After the group pranks Hannah, Beth notices her storming outside. The rest of the group follows Hannah, and Beth asks what they did. She will angrily call them jerks and run after Hannah. After finding her in the middle of the woods, crying, she offers her her coat.

Beth and Hannah then encounter a mysterious figure in the woods and a forced towards a cliff, Beth and Hannah then slip off before Beth grabs onto a branch. A mysterious stranger reaches out to Beth, who then has the option to either drop Hannah and attempt to grab the Stranger's hand, let go of the branch altogether, or do nothing.
Regardless of whether she lets go of the branch and she and Hannah fall down together, or if she drops Hannah and tries to take the Stranger's hand and then falls, Beth dies from a fatal injury to her spine after she hits a rock. Hannah survived for 30 more days in the mines, before eventually succumbing to cannibalism by eating Beth's corpse and finally transforming into a Wendigo.
