Ben Hawkins is a supporting character in Ma. He is played by Luke Evans, as well as Andrew Matthew Welch in the movie's flashback scenes.
Biography[]
Ben was the boyfriend of Mercedes, and the father of Andy Hawkins.
Back when he was still in high school, Sue-Ann had a crush on him. One day, Ben had invited her to hang out with him and some other friends at a rock quarry, where they developed a relationship with each other.
In reality, however, he and Mercedes were setting Sue-Ann up for a cruel prank; after giving her a note to meet him in the janitor's closet, she goes into the closet and performs fellatio on who she thinks is Ben. After leaving the closet, however, she finds Ben waiting for her, and realizes that she had been doing it to another boy and Ben had tricked her. Ben had also gotten the entire school to witness the event (including Mercedes and a young Erica Thompson), and Sue Ann suffered devastating humiliation, which she never recovered from.
About 30 years later, Ben has an unexpected run-in with Sue-Ann at the veterinary where she works, where they have a chat together and agree to meet at the pub later that afternoon after Sue-Ann finishes her shift. At the pub, Ben confronts her with a tracking device and asks her why his son has been at her house so much. He accuses her of trying to get back at him for his prank, then calls her pathetic and leaves.

The next night, Ben goes to Sue-Ann's house, having followed the tracking device he had on his son's van. However, it turns out that Sue-Ann stole the tracking device from the van, and used it to lure Ben to her house. She knocks Ben unconscious with a sedative, and he wakes up tied to her bed, where Sue-Ann briefly threatens to castrate him. She then tells Ben that since he treated her like a dog during his prank, she will treat him like one. Sue-Ann proceeds to pump blood obtained from Maggie's dog Louie into Ben, before slitting his wrist and leaving him to die.
