Art the Clown is the main antagonist of the Terrifier series.

Art the Clown holding a victim's brain

Art the Clown appeared in a handful of Damien Leone's work prior to Terrifier, particularly in his short film, The 9th Circle, and his anthology film, All Hallows' Eve. In those films, Art was played by Mike Giannelli. When Terrifier came out, Art, instead of Giannelli, is played by David Howard Thornton.

Art is a completely silent killer with mime-like qualities, and he is strongly implied to be some sort of supernatural entity, given how he comes back from a self-inflicted gunshot through the mouth and a decapitation. Art has also been said to have the ability to keep his victims alive so that they experience the largest amount of pain and suffering possible when being killed through brutal and torturous means, generally involving mutilation.

In the original film, Art dies when he shoots himself through the mouth as the cops attempt to arrest him, but he is revived through uncertain means and kills the coroner not long after. In the sequel, Art is killed when Sienna Shaw decapitates him, but he is also revived when Victoria gives birth to his severed head.
