Alan Chambers is the main protagonist in Return To Sleepaway Camp. He is a misunderstood 14-year-old with learning disabilities, ADHD, and autism. He attended Camp Manabe with his abusive stepbrother, who bullied him for being different. While Alan mocked some of the weaker kids, he was the constant victim of the older campers and some of the counselor's cruel pranks. Angela Baker observed this and was enraged over how these teenagers and adults treated a young teenager with special needs, so she killed those who bullied him. Former Camp Arawak counselor Ronnie and a young woman named Petey would protect Alan and argue for him.
Personality[]
Alan is a naturally kind and happy-go-lucky kid who means well. He doesn’t always realize how he’s coming across to other people, however. He also has difficulty understanding sarcasm and sometimes mistakes taunting from others as friendliness. It seems that his bitterness comes from being neglected by his family. He’s also frustrated and angry by the fact that he knows he’s different, and he doesn’t know how to change. Being bullied by some of the counselors, the camp owner, and some older campers, including his step-brother Michael, also causes him to be bitter and to lash out and bully weaker campers. He develops a deep hatred toward all of his enemies. He seems to long for friendship with people, however, and to have a good relationship with his stepbrother, but Michael hates him and bullies him too. In short, Alan is a neglected special needs person with poor social skills, and he has the mind of a child, not a teenager. He has a very kind heart and a love for frogs and cares for them. Whenever people are friendly to Alan, he is always polite back to them and gives them respect. He is also always sweet and gentlemanly to a popular and shy blonde girl named Karen, who he has a crush on. He offers to defend her honor when she tells him about when the camp’s assistant cook Mickey disrespected her.
He has a hard time being at camp and he loves his camp fire place near the lake where he eats food, drinks soda and watches the frogs.

Later that night after being insulted by bullies when they kept chanting “Blowjob”, he was driven mad and runs off into the night and he's not seen again until near the end of the movie where his evil stepbrother Michael beats him almost to death with a hammer.
Alan survived after Angela Baker Saved him by skinning Michael alive.
