Agent Jim Block is a supporting character in Final Destination 5.
Block's role in the movie is exactly like Agent Weine and Agent Schreck from the first movie, which is relatively minor compared to the rest of the characters. He investigates the opening disaster of the North Bay Bridge collapse and suspects protagonist Sam Lawton is responsible.
However, unlike Weine and Schreck, Block gets more involved with the survivors, which results in his death when Peter Friedkin shoots him three times in the back. It was initially believe Peter has stolen the lifespan of Agent Block since Peter was not meant to be alive to kill him. That life is later passed on to Sam after Peter's death.
His death won the Dull Machete award, since it's the only time a gun kill happens in the entire series, which James almost always finds to be extremely lame.
