Aeloth is the main antagonist in Deathgasm.
Biography[]
In an attempt to figure out what is going on, Zakk and Brodie meet with fortune teller Abigail, who informs them that by playing the hymn, they have summoned the demon Aeloth, and that the residents of town have been possessed by Aeloth's minions, who are killing everyone in order to prepare for Aeloth's arrival. Aeloth will combine with the most vile human present by 3 a.m. She is killed by two of the possessed before she can teach them how to stop Aeloth's summons.
Zakk refuses to battle Aeloth and instead chooses to observe the town's demise from a nearby hill, but Brodie persuades him to aid under the assumption that the summoning will be undone if the Black Hymn is played backwards.
The cult members arrive at Greypoint to welcome Aeloth, but Aeon is slain by his disciple Shanna, who takes over leadership. Zakk and Brodie return to school, where Dion, Giles, and Medina are waiting for them. Brodie confronts Zakk after seeing his jacket in Medina's bag; Zakk reveals that he isn't interested in Medina and only wanted to do it for fun. Zakk emerges triumphant from the struggle and decides to leave town. The surviving four go to Daggers' house to perform the song, but they are stopped by the cult, who kidnap the band and tear the sheets apart. Deathgasm interrupts the cult's ritual to summon Aeloth, and a repentant Zakk saves his bandmates.
Brodie starts playing the Black Hymn backwards while the rest of the band defends him; they murder a few cult members, but Dion and Giles are slain. Brodie is unable to complete the game, and Aeloth inhabits Shanna's body, which is quickly slain by Zakk. Aeloth, however, takes possession of Zakk's body because he is the most evil of them all. Brodie understands it's too late to finish the song, so he just plays heavy metal with zeal. Brodie's music leads Zakk to collapse and revert to his human form, and Zakk persuades Brodie to kill him in order to prevent Aeloth's revival.
